Hi. I’m Jenna!

I’ve been a coffee shop fan long before I was a coffee fan. In college, instead of studying at the library, I went to the same coffee shop downtown, Monks, several days a week (and sometimes actually studied while there). Coffee shops are the place for studying—whether an academic subject or craft or self. Coffee shops are the place for conversation, sometimes a joyful one and sometimes a hard one. Coffee shops feel safe—nothing is off the table, and from my experience, people in coffee shops usually respond with love. Maybe it’s the coffee or the slowness of pace. Regardless, that’s what I want this place to be—our own little coffee shop. Sorry, you’ll have to provide your own caffeine, but I promise to bring plenty of honest conversation. Sometimes it will be light and fun and other times, I may bring my game face. Whatever the topic is, I promise to be real, to be vulnerable, and to crack myself open so you can see you are not only not alone in your experiences and feelings, but you are loved and you are worthy of much.

A smidge about me—My husband, Blake, is my best friend. We met at Hardin-Simmons in Abilene and were married in 2011. He makes me laugh more than any other human on this planet. We have two little girls, Collins Piper and Emma James, who are what dreams are made of. I’m staying home with them while working on this writing gig, and we love every second. We have two lab pups galloping around when they’re not napping or chewing on toddler toys.

Things I love to do besides write: read, cook, EAT, watch movies, and share in good conversation. I dance to Disney music like only my daughters are watching (because they are, & they think I’m an awesome dancer). I don’t feel good on the outside if I’m not treating my body well, so I’m all about health (while also having an intense sweet tooth). I dream of traveling the world with my husband and our girls, and you better believe I’ll write about it all.

Welcome & Cheers! Can’t wait to get to know you.

Love, Jenna
