FOUR SIMPLE WAYS TO LOVE BIG

FOUR SIMPLE WAYS TO LOVE BIG

I always want to be an intentional friend, but sometimes I get sucked into the rhythm of the week & forget to pay attention. Here are four ways to show some love to our people on any given day! They’re simple, inexpensive, & honestly are as much fun to do for someone as they are to receive!

1. WRITE A NOTE

You don’t have to be a poet to write someone a note! Whether to congratulate or encourage, just saying hi, or being a good friend– all you need is some stationery & a colorful pen if you have one. Try thinking of one specific thing you like about that person & tell them. It could be something as simple as, You looked amazing in that blue shirt you wore yesterday! I think if we shared half of the positive things we thought about other people, the world would be a happier place. If you feel like going the extra mile, pop in a $5 Starbucks gift card so they can get an iced latte later & seal the envelope with some snazzy washi tape.

2. EARLY MORNING COFFEE

Know of a friend who had a long day/late night/not getting a whole lot of sleep ever? Start her day off with a welcomed surprise by leaving her favorite coffee drink on her front porch. You can even write, Good Morning, Sunshine! on the top of the lid if you remembered to grab your marker. Drop it off on her porch, tip toe away, & text her to check outside. (If you don’t live close enough for this one, see #1! Mail a note with a gift card– the sentiment will be felt in a big way!)

3. TEXT A SCREENSHOT

Do you ever see something that makes you think of a friend? Maybe it’s her favorite snack or a movie the two of you saw in theaters or something that reminds you of an inside joke. Next time, take a picture of it with your phone & text it to her– it’s always lovely to hear someone is thinking about you!

4. LEAVE A SNACK FOR YOUR MAILMAN (or amazon delivery person…sometimes they come almost daily, too!)

These guys work long hours (especially around holidays), & I have a feeling the majority of them don’t have mamas packing them snacks for the road! We have a little basket tray on our front porch with snacks/drinks & a tag letting people know they are welcome to take a snack, & it is definitely a hit! We have found that Gatorade & Pringles go the fastest at our house.

Have fun loving your people today & spreading Joy today!
